Golmaal Again trailer: Horror meets all the Rohit Shetty ingredients

After creating a lot of buzz, the makers of Golmaal Again, have finally released its first trailer. This is the fourth film in the successful Golmaal franchise.

To put it simply, it has exactly what you expect from a madcap Rohit Shetty multi-starrer film. It has Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khemu and Tusshar Kapoor in lead roles, while Parineeti Chopra is the latest addition to the franchise as far as the main cast is concerned.

The main ingredient of the promo (and ultimately the film) is the slapstick and mindless humour, chases, action sequences and of course, lots of posh cars that Shetty has a penchant for.

However, there is something that makes this Golmaal stand out in comparison to other films in the franchise.

As hinted in the poster, the film deals with the subject of ghosts. Going by the genre, the subject is dealt with in a humourous manner. This also means that the actors give funny, scary expressions and reactions.

It is nice to see good performers like Tabu, Sachin Khedekar and Prakash Raj be a part of the cast. There is also a glimpse of Neil Nitin Mukesh for a fraction of a second.

Shetty’s films are also laced with silly humour. However, the intended humour on display in the trailer hardly elicits any chuckles. For example, the one liner on ‘kalti’ and Tabu, as an occult specialist, reciting the mantra, ‘Im bhreem cold cream’.

The trailer gives a feeling that the makers have tried too hard to entertain the audience. Let’s hope that is not the case with the film.

The best part of the trailer is the end where Kapoor's character speaks for a change!

Golmaal Again is all set to be released on 20 October during Diwali. The film will be clashing with Aamir Khan’s production Secret Superstar, although it will be released a day before.
