The winds of change blowing over Tamil Nadu seem to be gaining strength with Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal calling on actor Kamal Haasan.
Kejiriwal, who arrived at the airport, was received by Kamal's younger daughter Akshara Haasan and escorted to their residence at Alwarpet by around 2.15 in the afternoon.
The meeting between the two lasted for an hour with the Aam Aadmi Party chief extending an invitation to the actor to join them in fighting corruption.
Both Kejriwal and Kamal chose to jointly address a press conference after their meeting.
Speaking at the conference after the meeting, Kamal said, "I consider his (Kejiriwal's) desire to come and meet me itself as my fortune. You may well be able to guess what it is that we may have talked about. The truth is that anybody who is against corruption becomes my relative. That way, this relationship continues. I am honoured that the CM of Delhi decided to visit my abode. This house has been political since my father's time. I was the one who was away from it. The reason why we got together is the purpose. The purpose has always been singular. I have always been that and he has a great national profile in that — of fighting against corruption and communalism. So, I also have a reputation, similar to that and it is no wonder that we decided to have a dialogue on the existing situation. It is more a learning curve for me than whatever purpose he came to visit me for. I am on an educational tour asking anybody who is fighting communalism and corruption to give me advice to go about my endeavour."
