As Tamil Nadu, and the rest of the country, wait for Kamal Haasan to arrive at a decision about his political career, the actor seems to be meeting a number of suitors from various political parties. The chief minister of Delhi, and AAP party president, Arvind Kejriwal, met with Haasan at the actor's residence in Chennai today, 21 September.
The chief minister was received at the airport by Haasan's daughter, Akshara.

Speaking after the meeting, Haasan said, "I am honoured that CM of delhi decided to visit my abode, we are all honoured [sic]. This house has been political since my father's time, I was the one who was away from it. The reason why we got together is the purpose is singular, and I have always been that. He has a national profile in that, of fighting against corruption and communalism."
Last week, at the Tamizh Thiru awards ceremony in Chennai, Haasan had announced that he was planning to launch his own political party. Taking a jab at people 'who fill the coffers emptied by governments', the actor had said, "It is truly because there has been an increase in the number of people who act for the sake of positions that people believe that I too am acting. You will know what kind of face this is as we go along."
The statement came after Haasan's meeting with Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The actor-director-producer had also parised the Kerala CM for 'good governance' last month.
After the meeting with Kejriwal, Haasan mentioned that this is 'educational tourism' for him. The actor said, "It is more or less a learning curve for me. I am on educational tourism asking anybody who is fighting against communalism and corruption to give me advice to go about my..(party)."

Over the span of the year, both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have made overtures towards politics, but it is Haasan who looks a more likely candidate with his recent statements at various events.
