This year, the big Diwali box office clash is between Aamir Khan Production's Secret Superstar and Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer comic caper Golmaal 4. Both films are poles apart in terms of the genre. The former, which stars Zaira Wasim, is the story of a girl wanting to fulfil her dreams of becoming a singer, while the latter is a mad-cap entertainer.
Advait Chandan, making his debu as a director with Secret Superstar, said that he is the least worried of the clash. In fact, his family is also keenly looking forward to the release of Golmaal 4.
During a chat with Cinestaan.com, the director said that he is nervous about the film. “But my nervousness has nothing to do with Golmaal 4. Regarding Golmaal 4, as I always say, I am an audience member. My family is very excited (for Golmaal 4). We will watch both the films,” he said.
He added that his nervousness would have been present even without the clash. “If my film would have been a solo Diwali release and if I would have got 10 weeks free after that, I would have still been nervous. After all, it’s my first film. I am nervous not from the box office point of view but by thinking how the audience would react. I am taking people’s money and time. So, I am obviously nervous,” he said.
Further, Chandan wants both films to succeed. “It’s good if more people watch more films and they all do well. At the end of the day, it is good for the industry. It should become more prosperous,” he added.
