Shahid Kapoor learns different forms of sword fighting for Padmavati

He may not have a lengthy role but Shahid Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned to prepare for Padmavati. Kapoor, who plays the character of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, has apparently learnt six different forms of sword fighting for his role.
Images of Kapoor practising has surfaced on a Kapoor fan club accounts on Instagram.
The daily, Mid-day quoted a source as saying, “Rajputana style of sword-fighting is an evolved one, which requires the body to be both strong and agile at the same time. Shahid has been taught bits of Gatka, a mix of Angampora and Kalaripayattu. He is also learning spearplay, as the spear is a customary weapon among Rajputs.”
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmavati is slated to be released on 17 November. The film stars Deepika Padukone in the titular role, while Ranveer Singh plays the antagonist Alauddin Khilji.
