Vishal Bhardwaj is encouraging new talent. Apart from producing Honey Trehan's film starring Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, Bhardwaj is also set to produce his assistant Aditya Nimbalkar’s directorial debut, as reported by the tabloid Mumbai Mirror. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kriti Sanon have been approached for the leading roles.
A source close to Siddiqui informed, “Yes, Vishal Bhardwaj has offered Nawazuddin a film. Though I’m not sure if it's a comedy. As far as I know, it is a love story. It could be a romantic comedy, but not an out-and-out comedy. Nothing has been finalised though.”
If Siddiqui and Sanon give their nod to the project, then it will be their maiden collaboration with Bhardwaj. Siddiqui had a minor role in Hansal Mehta’s Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar (2000), for which Bhardwaj had composed the music.
Nimbalkar is said to have assisted Bhardwaj in films like Haider (2014) and Rangoon (2017).
