Shreyas Talpade’s Poster Boys and Ashim Ahluwalia’s Daddy saw a fall in collections on their first Monday (11 September). This has well and truly sealed their fate at the box office.
Poster Boys made Rs1.10 crore on the day while the Daddy's collection slumped to Rs70 lakh, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer has so far made only Rs8.35 crore approximately. As the film is reportedly made at a budget of Rs30 crore, its chances of equalling that score seem almost over.
Daddy, starring Arjun Rampal is a biopic on gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli. The scenario for the film on the box office looks worse. The film has so far only earned Rs5.20 crore. With its reported budget ranging between Rs20-22 crore, it looks like the film stands no where close to breaking even either.
Director Milan Luthria’s Baadshaho, too, had a fall on its second Monday, as it made Rs1 crore. Its grand total right now stands at Rs62.73 crore, which is way below its reported making cost of Rs80 crore. The film, starring Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi, has turned out to be a yet another big budget film that failed to click this year.
R S Prasanna’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, which released with Baadshaho, also made Rs1 crore on its second Monday. It is reportedly made at a cost of Rs25 crore and has so far earned Rs32.22 crore, approximately. After Bareilly Ki Barfi, this is another small budget, content oriented film that has worked at the box office.
