Amitabh Bachchan remembered Rituparno Ghosh, one of India's most versatile filmmakers in the post-Satyajit Ray generation, and the megastar says "he left too soon".
Bachchan, 74, worked with Ghosh in The Last Lear (2008), which he says completes ten years. However, the film was theatirically released in India on 12 September, 2008.
The Piku (2015) actor on Monday night took to Twitter to remember the filmmaker. Ghosh is credited to have started a new wave in Bengali cinema exploring human relationships with bold depiction of sexuality against social themes.

Ghosh passed away of cardiac arrest at his city residence in Kolkata in 2013. He was the maker of acclaimed and award-winning Bengali films like Asukh (1999), Bariwali (2000), Utsab (2000), Shubho Mahurat (2003), Chokher Bali (2003), Dosar (2006), Shob Charitro Kalponik (2009) and Abohoman (2010).
Ghosh's last released film was Chitrangada: The Crowning Wish (2012), while a few days before his death, he had finished shooting a crime thriller Satyanweshi (2013).
He also directed two Hindi movies — Raincoat in 2004, that got a National Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, and Sunglass in 2013.
