The fourth song from the Bhoomi album, after 'Trippy Trippy', ‘Lag Ja Gale’ and ‘Will You Marry Me?’, ‘Daag’ focuses on the shattered lives of Arun (Sanjay Dutt) and his daughter Bhoomi (Aditi Rao Hydari) after an incident changes them forever.

The melancholic song is voiced by Sukhwinder Singh who sings about dreams that have gone up in smoke. The lyrics are by Priya Saraiya, wife of Jigar Saraiya, while the album has been composed by Sachin-Jigar.

The video shows father and daughter in various stages of grief and how they are trying to come to terms with it. They are trying to internalize their pain without the other finding out. Arun is a shoemaker who owns a shop called Bhoomi Footwear and has been preparing for his daughter’s wedding when tragedy strikes.

Directed by Omung Kumar, Bhoomi is the comeback film of actor Dutt after his release from Yerwada central jail in early 2016 where he served out the remainder of his five-year sentence for illegal possession of weapons.

The film is due to be released on 22 September.
