A day after he was reinstated as its president, actor Dileep on Thursday, 6 October, wrote to the Film Exhibitors' United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) saying he is not interested in taking up the post.
Dileep was released on bail by the Kerala High Court on Wednesday, 5 October, after spending 85 days in judicial custody for alleged involvement in the kidnap and molestation of an actress in February this year.
Following his release, the FEUOK at an emergency executive meeting had decided to reinstate Dileep as the president.
However, in a letter to the general secretary of FEUOK AC Bobby, Dileep said he is not interested in remaining the president and thanked the organization for extending their support.
Meanwhile, Thursday too saw a stream of visitors arriving at his residence, a huge majority from the film industry.
In the morning Dileep arrived at the St Jude Church, Paravoor, to participate in the morning prayers.
In a related development, Rimi Tomy, popular singer, TV and film personality from the south, gave her statement before a magistrate at Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district, after the police probe team got permission from the Kerala High Court for the same.
Emerging an hour after her deposition, she said that since she had accompanied Dileep on a few stage shows in foreign countries, she provided details of it to the police.
Dileep is also expected to pray at the famed Sabarimala temple in the coming days.
