A theft has taken place at the warehouse of veteran actress Hema Malini in the Andheri locality of Mumbai. The articles stolen include imitation jewellery worth Rs90,000 approximately. The police suspects the domestic help who is missing ever since the incident came to light and has reportedly switched off his phone.
According to reports, the domestic help was given the task of cleaning up the warehouse. The police believes that the accused mistakenly considered the imitation jewellery to be real and fled with it.
It was Malini’s manager who first came to know about the theft. The actress uses the warehouse to store her costumes and imitation jewellery that she uses for her dance performance shows. She regularly performs classical dance shows in different cities.
ACP Dattatray Bhargude from Juhu police station, who is looking at the case, told The Indian Express, “A case of theft has been registered and we are on the lookout for the accused. Since the investigation is underway I cannot provide any details.”
