Veteran actor Raza Murad shared his look from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s keenly awaited Padmavati on his Facebook profile yesterday. While his character’s first appearance from the film was widely appreciated on social media, Murad deleted the post after some time without giving any reason.
A source close to the film's production unit told Cinestaan.com that the production house had asked the actor to delete the post. The actor plays Jalaluddin Khilji, the first ruler of the Khilji dynasty in Delhi.
“He was told by them not to share it and to delete it," said the source. "They called him and said that. They didn’t like it. That’s why he deleted it. Maybe they wish to share Aditi Rao Hydari’s look next.” The film's makers are likely to reveal the first looks of the supporting characters later.
Along with his look yesterday, Murad had written, “This is my look in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Padmavati. I am playing Jalaluddin Khilji who was the first ruler of the Khilji dynasty in India. He ruled India (1290-1296) for six years and was killed by his paternal nephew and son-in-law, Alauddin Khilji, who took over the throne after killing his uncle and father-in-law. Ranveer Singh plays Alauddin Khilji. Padmavati is obviously Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor is Rawal Ratan Singh, ruler of Chittor, Deepika’s husband. The film would be released on 1 December all over the world.”
The first look of Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji was officially released yesterday by the makers. The looks of the characters played by Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor were also released recently.
