Actor Vicky Kaushal can't get enough of the army it seems. The actor who just finished shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Raazi alongside Alia Bhatt, has already begun preparing for his next role. Kaushal has been confirmed as the lead for the upcoming film, tentatively titled Uri, based on the recent surgical strikes by the Indian army.
The Masaan actor has also started preparing for the role with an extensive fitness routine to get into shape as an army officer. Kaushal will reportedly be trained by Rakesh Udiyar, the man behind Aamir Khan's incredible transformation for Dangal (2016).
Uri is directed by Aditya Dhar, and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Productions. The film is set to go on floors early next year.
Speaking about the film, Kaushal said, "In Uri as I am supposed to play the Major who led the surgical strike operational, I have to be extremely fit for the part physically and also look a certain way in terms of my physique. So I’m training with Rakesh who’s an extreme knowledgeable person when it comes to fitness. He is helping me with fitness regime workout and diet part of it and helping me gain lean muscle weight of about 10-12 kgs which is required for the part and also building my strength."
Kaushal already has three films set to be released next year. These include Gulzar's Raazi and Rajkumar Hirani's Dutt biopic. The actor will also be seen in the film, Love Per Square Foot alongside Angira Dhar.
