After playing a double role in Mubarakan, Arjun Kapoor is back to being his sharp, clean best in Dibakar Banerjee's next, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The actor's first look from the film was released on social media today.

Kapoor will play a police officer from Delhi's special unit in the film. The look certainly captures Kapoor at his intense best, complete with a sharp moustache. The attire suggests that Kapoor is still in the lower ranks of the unit.

In the post, the Mubarakan actor wrote, '10th film 1 truth...Change is the only constant !!! Can’t wait to begin filming this one #sandeepaurpinkyfaraar @yrf @SAPFTheFilm.'

The actor said, "Dibakar wanted me to understand the world the character comes from. He wanted me to be embedded in that world. I also wanted to understand the character’s entire journey — from the time he was seven or eight years old till he is about 30. I wanted to know his psychology and why he is the way he is, and why he makes certain extreme choices."

The actor also spent between six to nine hours interacting with the police at their homes and talking with their families.

“I got to meet so many fascinating people. Actually, I have been preparing almost for three months now. I am devoting more time for the prep than shooting it. I knew that if I understood this world, I would be able to play the character better."

Arjun also witnessed the cadet training that the military and paramilitary forces have to go through, as he wanted to get a look at how they tackle situations involving risk and conflict.

“Their conditioning looks very easy on-screen, but what it takes to become an actual police officer and the kind of sacrifices that you have to make to reach a certain level is exemplary. It was very fascinating. Undercover missions are at a completely different level. It was the first time in my life that I got the opportunity to meet cops at this level,” says the actor.

Kapoor will join his Ishaqzaade (2012) co-star Parineeti Chopra in Banerjee's film. The two actors will also be seen in Namastey Canada, which is yet to go on the floors.

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is produced by Yash Raj Films and will be released on 3 August 2018 August next year.
