While there hasn’t been an official announcement about the same, a preview of the film's 3D trailer has been organized for the media today.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has taken all by surprise. The maker of Padmavati is likely to release the Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor-starrer also in 3D. Few films in Hindi cinema get the 3D treatment even today.

While there hasn’t been an official announcement about the same, a special preview of the film’s trailer in 3D has been organized for the media today. This means that, if not all, at least some shows of the film will be in 3D.

Among mainstream Hindi filmmakers, only Vikram Bhatt has been regularly using the 3D technology for his horror films. Apart from this, Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One (2011) and Don 2 (2011) and Remo D’Souza’s Any Body Can Dance [ABCD] (2013) and Any Body Can Dance [ABCD] 2 (2015) are some others films that made use of 3D technology.

In 2015, the restored version of Ramesh Sippy’s all-time classic Sholay (1975) was re-released in 3D.

Going by the trailer of Padmavati, it seems it would be interesting to see its grand war sequences in 3D.

Padmavati is based on Alauddin Khilji’s obsession with the Rajput queen Padmavati and how he wages a war against the Rajputs. The film will be released on 1 December.
