Ribbon trailer: Kalki Koechlin, Sumeet Vyas take on an unexpected pregnancy

In Ribbon, Kalki Koechlin as Sahana and Sumeet Vyas as Karan are a young urban couple, whose lives get thrown get into turmoil, when they decide to become parents. The first trailer of Ribbon, directed by Rakhee Sandilya, finds the couple in personal and professional dilemmas when a child enters their lives.

The couple argues about the reasons why a baby in their lives could be an added strain on their responsibilities. Vyas also tells Koechlin that if she doesn’t want to have the baby, she doesn’t have to go through it.

But obviously, Sahana and Karan decide to become parents and are blessed with a baby girl. Additionally, the trailer shows some realistic scenes of Koechlin facing resistance at work after getting pregnant and Vyas having second thoughts about being a parent.

The film, looks to balance the drama of the effects of a pregnancy on a relationship, with bits of comedy and tough love.

Produced by Prakash Mondal and Swathi Mondal from Red Cart Films, Ribbon is due to be released on 3 November.
