Filmfare Marathi Awards 2017: Sairat wins Best Film, Nana Patekar Best Actor

Nagraj Manjule's Sairat won as many as 11 awards.

The results of the Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017 are out. Films like Sairat, Natsamrat and Ventilator have gone home with the most number of black trophies.

The biggest hit and the most appreciated film Sairat bagged the Best Film Award. The film’s director Nagraj Manjule became a known name not just in Maharashtra, but all over India. He bagged the Best Director Trophy for the same film.

Rinku Rajguru, who made her debut with Sairat became an overnight star. She too expectedly went home with the Best Actor (female) trophy.

Nana Patekar stunned the audience last year with his earth-shattering act in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Natsamrat. He walked away with the Best Actor (male) award. Vikram Gokhale was adjudged Best Actor in a supporting role for his act as Patekar’s friend in the same film. The award for Best Supporting Actor (female) went to Sai Tamhankar for Family Katta.

Sairat was also known for its songs. All the Filmfare music awards went to that film — Best Music (Ajay-Atul), Best Lyrics (Ajay-Atul for ‘Yad Laglay’), Best Playback Singer (male, Ajay Gogavale for ‘Yad Laglay’), Best Playback Singer (female, Chinmayi for ‘Sairat Zala Ji’).

But that’s not all. Sairat also walked away with Best Debut (male) and Best Debut (female) for Akash Thosar and Rajguru, respectively. The Best Dialogue award also went to this film (Bharat Manjule and Nagraj Manjule). Sairat, in all, won 11 awards, which also includes Best Background Score (Ajay-Atul).

Critics’ award for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (male) and Best Actor (female) went to Natsamrat, Mahesh Manjrekar (for Natsamrat), Mangesh Desai (Ek Albela) and Vandana Gupte (Family Katta).

Ventilator was bestowed with Best Story and Best Screenplay (both by Rajesh Mapuskar) awards. He also walked away with Best Debut Director for the film.

Veteran actor Ashok Saraf was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
