Qarib Qarib Singlle is like a completely different relationship status. The title is perhaps indicative of the kind of relationship that the characters of Irrfan Khan and Parvathy have in the film. The makers have released a new song 'Jaane De', that brings out the dilemma in their love.
Lyricist Raj Shekhar has penned a soothing ballad that gives us a glimpse into the sweet and sour relationship that Yogi (Khan) and Jaya (Parvathy) have.
The visuals don't paint a clear picture, but it seems Yogi and Jaya have drifted apart and are feeling emotional and nostalgic. They are in a dilemma whether to let go or take the next step. The sadness in their eyes is enough to melt your hearts.
Music director Vishal Mishra has scored a soft number that penetrates your heart.
Finally, Atif Aslam adds another beautiful romantic ballad to his name. He’s not perfect when it comes to the sur-taal (notes, rhythm) but where the Pakistani scores is being able to emote pain in the song. He moves swiftly from the low to the high notes. Aslam is particularly impressive in the antara, not losing the grip over the high notes.
Lovers of sombre songs will appreciate the freshness of 'Jaane De'.
Qarib Qarib Singlle is set to be released on 10 November.
