It is no surprise that filmmaker Imtiaz Ali tried to name his last work Jab Harry Met Sejal. The title is a throwback to a decade ago when Ali first delivered a travelogue filled with love, life and colours. Jab We Met released on 26 October 2007, and lifted the careers of actors Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor to the next level. Witty dialogues, a romantic story, and some scintillating acting made the film a cult classic.

The story of the free-spirited, wanderlust-bitten Geet and the introverted, shy Aditya became the story of the year. Bolstered by the ongoing relationship (then) between Kareena and Shahid, the film was being touted as the 'new DDLJ'.

While the film was packed with beautiful locales, a peppy soundtrack and some great direction, it was Kareena's character Geet who stole the show with her love of life, and a life filled with love.

The actress even won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress that year. Her bravado, conviction, and sometimes hallucinated view of the world was a refreshing departure from an increasing obsession for dark heroines in Hindi cinema.
