The trailer of Atanu Mukherjee's Rukh offers a peek into the journey of young Dhruv who arrives home to find his family dealing with a tragic event.
As he tries to cope with the sorrow, he also discovers new secrets that unravel any illusion of the happy family that he grew up in. The film, starring Manoj Bajpayee, Smita Tambe, Adarsh Gourav and Kumud Mishra is set to be released on 27 October.
The cast, and particularly the family, at the heart of Mukherjee's film sat down for a conversation with Cinestaan.com. Bajpayee, Gourav and Tambe play the family at the heart of this film. While Gourav plays the confused teenager, Bajpayee takes on the role of the mysterious father whose death propels the story further. The family sat down with Cinestaan.com to speak about the complexities of Mukherjee's film.
Praising Mukherjee's writing, Bajpayee said, "Only a gifted person can write this kind of a script. To balance a commentary on a middle class family's relationship, and putting a little bit of intrigue and suspense with the pace."
The thought was echoed by Tambe who added, "I finished reading the script by 1.30 in the night, and I immediately called up Atanu. I said, 'I know it is late but I had to tell you I am very happy that I am part of the script'."
Gourav, who already caught the eye of critics with his performance in Mom (2017), said that it was 'inspiring' to work with co-stars like Bajpayee and Tambe. "It is inspiring to see them work with so much rigour on their craft," he added.
Rukh is produced by Drishyam Films and will hit the screens on 27 October.
