Colours form an integral part of Hindi cinema's song and dance sequences. Artists are not averse to donning bright and flashy clothes. The makers of Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana have rekindled those memories with a flash remix of the popular Rajasthani folk song 'Pallo Latke'.
Kumaar uses the lyrics 'Pallo latke maahro pallo latke' and gives the rest a unique spin. They are neither poetic nor folk, but it's the peppy pop music that drives the track. The introductory tune reminds you of pop music video 'Kangna Tera Ni' by Dr Zeus and MC Shortie.
However, the music directors Raees and Zain-Sam have managed to create a highly entertaining and peppy remix.
The rap lyrics are written by Rossh with vocals by Fazilpuria. The rapper from Haryana is usually good, but the song clearly belongs to the female singer Jyotica Tangri. Her sensual voice matches the sexiness of Aarti (Kriti Kharbanda). Tangri's voice takes the song a few notches higher.
The most striking feature of the video are the LED-lined dupattas. Amitabh Bachchan’s LED-lit attire from the 'Saara Zamaana' song from Yaarana (1981) comes to mind.
Rajkummar Rao enjoys another rare song-and-dance moment. Even seasoned artistes like Manoj Pahwa and Govind Namdev indulge in crazy, comical dance moves.
This track is an audio-visual treat. Watch the remix, as well as the original folk song below.
