Depiika Padukone was one of the contenders for the lead role in Shah Rukh Khan's yet untitled next, but Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma made the cut. However, Padukone has bagged a cameo in the film, directed by Aannd L Rai.

Padukone confirmed the news in an interview with Zoom TV for the television show Planet Bollywood.

“I can't tell you what it is, but is a cameo, as I'm sure you'll have discovered by now. It was fun, it was so easy. Shah Rukh Khan just called and said that they wanted to do something special. And it happened... we shot in a couple of days. They took such good care of me. The night got over like that. None of us felt like we were working, it was just like friends catching up,” Padukone said.

Padukone will be seen sharing the big screen with Khan for the fourth time. The Padmavati (2017) actress had made her debut with Khan’s Om Shanti Om (2007). Later, Padukone worked in two more films with Khan — Chennai Express (2013) and Happy New Year (2014).

Khan is playing to a dwarf in the Anand L Rai project that is slated to be released on Christmas next year.
