Secret Superstar is the story of a girl from a middle-class family who dreams of being a superstar singer. ‘Gudgudi,’ the latest song from the film to be released, celebrates the simple joys of life of a family from a humble background.
The song features Insu’s (Zaira Wasim's) mother buying a laptop for her. Insu feels bad to see her mother spend a large amount for her and wants to return the laptop but retains it on her mother’s insistence.
This starts the family’s rendezvous with the gadget. They try different fun applications. This includes trying out different recipes. The internet is used a lot for this purpose in Indian households. There is also a subtle hint of Insu’s mother being more like a friend than a parent when the former receives a friend request from a guy. The song is full of several such heartwarming moments.
As we have seen from the trailers of Secret Superstar, Insu’s character secretly uploads her singing video online. The laptop must have been used for it. So, it seems the gadget is an important part of the story.
One can’t deny the contribution of Sunidhi Chauhan’s energetic voice to the song. Amit Trivedi also makes an impact with his fun tunes. Enjoy the song here:
