Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati faces the threat of little known group Rajput Karni Sena and Jai Rajputana Sangh, who have threatened to stall the release of Padmavati. Unfortunately, it’s not just the film or its makers, but the anger against Padmavati has spilled onto an rangoli drawing too.
A gentleman from Surat, Gujarat, on Twitter named Karan K, has claimed that his rangoli art of Deepika Padukone’s character from the film, was destroyed by a mob of 100 who were shouting "Jai Shri Ram".
Karan tweeted about the incident expressing shock at the way his art, that took 48 hours to complete, was allegedly destroyed.
Padmavati has been courting controversy from the time Bhansali and his crew started shooting the film. The shoot in Rajasthan was halted after members of Rajput Karni Sena vanadalized the sets in Jaipur. Bhansali faced problems in Kolhapur, too, with the film then said to have been discreetly shot in Mumbai.
Padmavati is set to be released on 1 December.
