Actor Vijay to play magician in much awaited Tamil film Mersal

With just a couple of days to go for Diwali, the plot of director Atlee Kumar's eagerly awaited film, Mersal, which stars Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menon, is out.
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), the body responsible for certifying films to be screened in Britain, has put up the film's summary on its website.
According to the summary, Mersal is an action thriller that has a magician and a doctor attempting to expose corruption at the heart of India's medical industry.

The film's technicians had until now kept the plot a secret, not giving away anything even during their promotional interviews. For a long time, rumours were doing the rounds that Vijay would be seen playing a jallikattu (bull-baiting sport) player. However, the summary indicates that the actor plays a magician.
The film, which is two hours and 43 minutes long, has been classified 12A by the BBFC.
