The makers of Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana released their first song on 12 October. Titled 'Jogi', the romantic song melts your heart with its poetic lyrics and soothing music.
Music director Arko has written the lyrics, too, and deserves an applaud for writing a simple, beautiful, and poetic track, wherein a love-struck desi Romeo sings praises of his beloved.
Arko’s neat lyrics are backed by a soft and soothing tune that sets the romantic mood. The song also reflects shades of Sufi music.
The singing is credited to Yasser Desai and Aakansha Sharma. However, we don’t get to hear the latter in this video, perhaps, one will have to wait for an extended version of the song.
Desai completely wins over with his performance. The rookie singer is relatively new in the industry. He has previously sung 'Itna Tumhe' from Machine (2017) and 'Twist Kamariya' from Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017). However, 'Jogi' has given Desai a chance to truly prove his mettle. His voice has a Sufi touch, which should, in the near future, make him a popular choice for such numbers.
What the song lacks, perhaps, is more appealing visuals. But then again Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda are playing humble small town characters.
Mishra (Rao) is more rooted, restrained almost, too shy to express his feelings for Aarti. The manner in which he hesitates while asking her for a kiss, reflects the character's innocence. He not only loves Aarti, but also worships her.
Kharbanda looks like a dream. As opposed to the guy, Aarti is more confident, more expressive in this relationship. She is every bit of the girl-next-door that most hearts yearn for.
With no chivalry, no running around the bushes, the characters remain true to their humble roots in the song.
