Anurag Kashyap, known for making films with dark themes, is presenting a short film titled Beautiful World based on the 2016 gang-rape of a woman and her minor daughter in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh.
"I have started my company, Mad Hatters," said Avantika Khattri, who has acted in films like Kuch Kuch Locha Hai (2015) and War Chhod Na Yaar (2013), in a statement. "I recently co-produced a short film called Beautiful World. Anurag came on board because he liked the fact that I wanted to make films on social issues.

Sharma has worked with Kashyap on films like Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012), Dev.D (2009) and No Smoking (2007).
Sharing more details about Beautiful World, which stars Shweta Tripathi, Amruta Subhash and Swanand Kirkire, Khattri said: "It was made this year. We are taking it to various film festivals. It is expected to be released in February 2018."
Khattri's next film, For All That You Are, is a lesbian love story gone wrong.
