The makers of have thrown up a surprise by revealing that Bobby Deol is all set to join the cast of Race 3. Producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips shared the news on his Twitter page. He said, “Welcome to the family #BobbyDeol @BeingSalmanKhan @Asli_Jacqueline #Race3 #Eid2018.”
Actors Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez will also join the cast as announced earlier. While there has been a lot of excitement and speculation over who will be in the film, names like Sidharth Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur have been floating around in the media.
Speaking to tabloid Mumbai Mirror, Taurani said that the audience will get to see Deol like never before. “I have worked with Bobby earlier and both Soldier and Naqaab were a great experience. He is an absolute delight to work with, very professional and a really nice guy. He will be styled differently in the film and you will see him in a never seen before avatar,” he said.
When prodded about Deol's character, Taurani said, “In Race, all characters are grey. You will have to watch the film to figure out what exactly each one is playing.”
Race (2007) and Race 2 (2013) were directed by veteran director duo Abbas-Mustan. But Race 3 would be helmed by Remo D’Souza.
Recently D’Souza had said that he can’t be compared to the director duo. “I can’t be compared to them. They are the baap of all directors. I am taking up this film as a challenge and am eager to go beyond the dance genre. The Race franchise has slick thrills and great music. I am fond of both elements,” he had said.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan was also offered a role in Race 3. But he had to politely turn it down as he had already given dates to Nagraj Manjule’s (of Sairat fame) Jhund. That film and Race 3 are all set to kick off from November.
Race 3 is Salman’s Eid release in 2018.
