Judwaa 2 beats Badrinath Ki Dulhania as Varun Dhawan's highest grossing film

Judwaa 2, which released in the Dussehra week, bagged Rs115.25 crore nett, surpassing the Rs114.11-crore nett that Dhawan's Badrinath Ki Dulhania made in India.

Judwaa 2 has emerged as the biggest hit of actor Varun Dhawan’s career with the film bagging Rs115.25 crore nett so far, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com. This beats the Rs114.11 crore collected by Badrinath Ki Dulhania, that had released earlier this year.

Judwaa 2 bagged Rs2.75 crore nett on its second Monday, taking its domestic box office collection to Rs115.25 crore nett so far. The film is made at an estimated budget of Rs80 crore and has been released across 3,500 screens in India.

Judwaa 2 review: Varun Dhawan is charming in this outdated comedy

While Judwaa 2 has surpassed Badrinath Ki Dulhania collections, the latter was made at an estimated budget of Rs44 crore. Thus, Badrinath Ki Dulhania had a better return on investment. Besides, Badrinath Ki Dulhania was released across 2,800 screens in India.

Meanwhile, last week’s release, Chef continued to struggle bagging only Rs50 lakh on its first Monday.

Chef review: Few missing flavours spoil this remade recipe

The Saif Ali Khan-starrer had made a paltry Rs3.85 crore in its four days since it was released. Chef was made at an estimated budget of Rs30 crore and released across 1,570 screens in India. Though there are no big releases lined up this Friday (13 October), the poor numbers have virtually chopped up Chef’s chances.

The next challenge for Judwaa 2 would be to beat Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which is the highest grossing Hindi film of the year so far with Rs132.07 crore.
