Ali Fazal is going places in his career. After a small role in Fast and Furious 7 (2015), the actor was picked by director Stephen Frears to play Abdul in Victoria and Abdul (2017).
Fazal is now gearing up for his next project, Mirzapur, a video-on-demand show. He will be seen playing a gangster, a role that is quite a contrast to the ones he has recently played. Shooting for the show has begun in Benaras. Directed by Karan Anshuman, Mirzapur is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani.
Fazal has had to bulk up for the role and began working out during his international tours to promote Victoria and Abdul.
Meanwhile, as far as films are concerned, the actor will be next seen in Fukrey Returns.
The makers of the film have released a new poster of Fazal’s character which looks very sharp indeed.
Fukrey Returns was earlier slated to be released on 8 December, but now will hit the screens on 15 December. The move comes after Sanjay Leela Bhansali shifted the release date of Padmavati to 1 December.
