The film will be released after a wait of 4 years on 22 December.

Monsoon Shootout, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has finally made its way to the big screen. The film, directed by Amit Kumar, premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2013. However, the content of the film ensured that it was stuck without a release date for four long years.
Producer Guneet Monga (Sikhya Entertainment) has now confirmed that the film is set to hit the screens on 22 December, alongside Tiger Zinda Hai, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
Incidentally, Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared screenspace with Salman Khan in Kick (2014), and was even offered a role in Tiger Zinda Hai. However, his date commitments prevented him from being a part of the Ali Abbas Zafar film.
The release date does stand a risk for Siddiqui's film as it will be going up against a very popular and awaited blockbuster.
Sources close to the film said, "No other date is available before that. Besides, after 22 December there are no releases for 2 weeks and the makers want to cash in on that. Also, the audience for Salman starrer and Monsoon shootout is completely different, there won't be any clash as such."
Monsoon Shootout is a crime thriller starring Vijay Verma, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Neeraj Kabi, and Siddiqui, in the lead roles. The film revolves around a pivotal moment involving a cop and a murderer, and the life-altering decision made by the two.
