The small town in central India has become a vital part of Hindi cinema in the last decade. Ratna Sinha's latest, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, is another romantic tale set in the wondrous lanes of Benares.

The latest song, 'Tu Banja Gali Benaras Ki', from the film alludes to the little joys that a new couple finds in the small townships across India.

Sung by Asit Tripathy, the song is a wonderful, melodious track that captures the shy, blooming romance perfectly.

While Rajkummar Rao plays the shy, young Satyendra trying to impress his love interest, Kharbanda looks pretty as the confident Aarti.

But the magic lies in the lyrics by Shakeel Azmi. Using metaphors of the lanes and sights of Benares, Azmi constructs a wonderful song that takes us, along with the couple, on their many escapades across the city.

The composition by Rashid Khan is simple, rhythmic, but staid. While it is pleasant to the ear, it offers nothing new in terms of sound. Therein, lies the problem of the song.

Rajkummar Rao is experiencing a strong year. Now, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is on its way to widen the romantic horizon of his impressive portfolio.

The film is set to be released on 10 November 2017.
