Director Kabir Khan’s upcoming film titled '83 created a buzz when it was announced at the end of September this year. Now, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has a release date. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has revealed that the film will hit the theatres on 5 April 2019.

'83 will portray India’s cricket World Cup victory of 1983 on celluloid. The film will see Singh essaying the role of Kapil Dev, who took India to glory then as the captain. The movie is a joint venture between Reliance Entertainment, Kabir Khan Films, Phantom films and Vibri Media.
The makers haven’t announced the rest of the cast. It will be interesting to see who plays the rest of the team India players.
'83 is Khan's next venture as a director and producer after Tubelight (2017).
Singh also has Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boys, which is a dance-based film. Currently, the actor is gearing up for his next big release, Padmavati. He will be seen playing the role of the Mughal ruler Alauddin Khilji in the film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It is slated to be released on 1 December.
