The long, seemingly never-ending saga of Padmavati has finally come to a close. After Deepika Padukone and Aditi Rao Hydari announced the wrap up of their portions of Bhansali's film, it is the turn of Ranveer Singh's Alauddin Khilji to finish shooting.
The actor, who plays the ruthless Alauddin Khilji in Bhansali's film tweeted about the end of his schedule.
Singh wrote, 'And it's a wrap!Goodbye Alauddin. 1 year and a few weeks later, I bid thee farewell. May your restless soul find its peace... #Khilji'

Goodbye Alauddin. 1 year and a few weeks later, I bid thee farewell. May your restless soul find its peace... #Khilji pic.twitter.com/Q958NazuJC
The tweet reveals the astonishing amount of time that Singh has spent in character as the emperor of the Khilji dynasty who invaded Chittor. With the film struggling for release with the politics involved, Singh might have to wait a month again before it is released. Recent reports suggested that the actor had to undergo counselling due to the stress created by his characterization of Khilji.
However, Singh's mention of 'May your restless soul find its peace' is an implication of the conundrum that faces the film's release. With the ruling party suggesting a stay on the film due to upcoming elections, there are questions being raised.
Padmavati is set to be released on 1 December.
