Ever since Kamal Haasan declared his intentions of joining politics, the actor has been vocal in his critical views of government policies. Whether it is the implementation of demonetisation, or Tamil independence, Haasan has been taking a very political stance. His latest comments on 'Hindu Terror', however, seem to have raked up a new controversy.
In his recent column for the Tamil weekly, Ananda Vikatan, the actor opined that terror has infested into right wing Hindu groups. A Varanasi based advocate Kamlesh Chandra Tripathi has now filed a complaint against the actor for hurting Hindu sentiments. A local court in Varanasi will hear the plea today.
Writing for a Tamil weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan, Haasan had said, "The right wing cannot challenge talk of Hindu terrorists because terror has spread into their camp as well."
"Hindus are losing faith in 'satyameva jayate' and instead subscribing to 'might is right'," he added.
Haasan made the comments in response to a question by the Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who asked the superstar about his opinion on the growing communalisation which seeks to destroy the Tamil Dravidian tradition of peaceful co-existence.
While the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party has slammed the actor for his comment, the actor has gained support from fellow actor Prakash Raj has backed Haasan in his a series of tweets.

Raj had earlier faced flak by Twitter trolls for his criticism on prime minister Narendra Modi following several violent abusers on the platform of Twitter. The actor continued the series with several tweets that criticised recent policies of the central government.

Earlier actor Arvind Swamy, too, raised the issue through this tweet. However, Swamy refrained from naming any group, or providing a context to his statement.
