Kriti Sanon does a Madhuri Dixit on Farah Khan's show

Madhuri Dixit was the reigning queen of Hindi cinema in the 1990s and is looked up to as an icon by younger actresses like Kriti Sanon, a self-confessed fan.

Sanon emulated her idol on the small screen, grooving to the classic 'Ek Do Teen' track from N Chandra's Tezaab (1988).

Dixit's career had taken an upswing after this song. Sanon and her Bareilly Ki Barfi! (2017) co-star Rajkummar Rao appeared on choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan’s reality show, Lipsing.

Sanon called it a dream come to true to dress up and dance like Mohini, the character Madhuri Dixit played in Tezaab.

Recalling the experience, Sanon told Cinestaan.com on a chat, “It was a dream moment to dress up in the iconic Mohini costume and perform. I have always been a huge fan of Madhuri Dixit. From dancing on 'Akhiyaan Milaaun' [from Raja (1995)] when I was five to copying all her steps from 'Ek Do Teen' to 'Mera Piya Ghar Aaya' [from the film Yaraana (1995)]. So this performance was a small tribute to her from my side.”

Sanon was in a Lipsing battle with Rajkummar Rao, who didn’t take long to return to the stage where he broke his leg a few weeks ago. Rao showered praise on Sanon.

The actress also lauded Rao for being a good sport.
