It seems, two of Hindi cinema's big names have had a major fallout. After the news of Vishal Bhardwaj signing up Nawazuddin Siddiqui for a romantic comedy broke in early September, film fans and critics were understandably excited. However, recent reports suggest that the director-actor duo have called it quits over the age-old problem of 'creative differences'.
A report in the news daily, DNA, suggests that the project, which also had Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead role, might be shelved for now. The report quoted a source saying, "Vishal and Nawaz are not on talking terms anymore. They had a huge fallout after they had creative differences on the film. They had issues regarding the story and the narrative. So, they decided to part ways before the project went any further."
The problems, the source said, arose over Siddiqui's price demand. The report suggests that Siddiqui refused to lower his price demands, despite his recent lack of success at the box office, causing a huge fallout. The producer and actor could not agree on the story and the narrative of the film, either, and therefore decided to part ways.
Bhardwaj is not keen on roping in another actor for the film. The source said, "Vishal is not thinking of a replacement now. He has pushed ahead this film indefinitely. Meanwhile, Vishal plans to produce another film along with the Honey Trehan film, that stars Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan."
