Sallu Ki Shaadi trailer: Offers the perfect potion to knock off your senses

It is said that one shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Does this also mean that one also shouldn’t judge a movie by its trailer? The answer would be, yes. Trailers are meant to introduce you to the upcoming film. But then, the trailer of Sallu Ki Shaadi makes you think otherwise. 

The on-your-face title is a synopsis in itself. However, now that the trailer is out too, let's just talk about it. The film is based on the Indian media and audiences' question of the century — When will Salman Khan marry? (forget the who part). The trailer, much to our amusement, begins with a group of men vowing to stay single until their 'bhaijaan' ties the knot. The hyperbole is further stretched with three firangs joining the bandwagon. Thus, making the issue an international concern. (Anyways, who thinks issues like global warming are important? huh!)   

The fan-atic scenes are followed by some kick-on-the-crotch, muscle flaunting, jumping off railway track shots. Don't even try to think of what's happening, because you won't get any answers. It is advisable to spare your senses the tragic experience.

Watching Zeenat Aman, as, perhaps, Sallu's mother, is most painful. Her acting matches the sloppy everything, and keeps popping up in between some over-enthusiastically edited rubbish.

From the trailer, we know who the mother is, who the girlfriend, but we are still clueless as to who the Salman is! He is lost between fight scenes edited in too much hurry. The other cast members are, Kiran Kumar, Asrani, late Razzak Khan, Arshin, Ravi Pandey and Ranjana Kathiwada. The only sane scenes in the trailer are footages picked from Sooraj Barjatya’s Maine Pyar Kiya (1989).

Let's as a community, for the betterment of Sallu fans across the globe and the galaxies, wish he gets married soon.

Directed by Mohammad Israr Ansari, Sallu Ki Shaadi will take place on 8 December.
