Actress Sagarika Ghatge marries cricketer Zaheer Khan

Actress Sagarika Ghatge wed her long-time boyfriend, cricketer Zaheer Khan, in a court marriage at her residence in Parel, Mumbai. Photos of the couple in their simple wedding finery were found online on social media. 

Ghatge has worked in Fox (2009), Miley - Naa Miley - Hum (2011) and Irada (2017) after her debut in Chak De! India (2007). She also acted in a Marathi film Premachi Goshta in 2013.

For the quiet wedding, Ghatge wore a deep red sari with a diamond choker necklace and matching earrings, while Zaheer wore a pinkish kurta. The two have been dating for a couple of years now and got engaged in April 2017 after Khan proposed. 

Ghatge’s Chak De! India co-star, Vidya Malavade, tweeted Ghatge's photo from the night before the wedding, saying, ‘The mad bride is here’. The picture has Ghatge sans any makeup, but decked fully in lots of jewels, diamonds and pearls.

A reception is due to be held on Monday, 27 November at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower in Mumbai. Several invitees shared their invitations online which featured a customized logo representing the bride and groom, with the letters ‘Z’ and ‘S’ intertwined. A mehendi and cocktail party is said to take place today.
