Shah Rukh Khan has enough energy to power a concert, it seems. After jetting out to the inaugural ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) on 20 November, the actor returned and performed at Farhan Akhtar's Lalkaar concert with gusto.
The event, a part of campaign by Farhan Akhtar's MARD initiative in association with Population Foundation and Feroze Abbas Khan, aimed at generating awareness on violence against women. With musicians like Harshdeep Kaur, Papon, Salim-Sulaiman, Armaan Malik, and Sukriti-Prakriti in attendance, Shah Rukh decided to give the stage a try.
Akhtar shared an image of the very agile Shah Rukh making a rockstar leap on stage. Akhtar wrote '@iamsrk touching the sky at #Lalkaar .. Rock on!! Thank you so much for making it to the gig and for the wonderful words & energy you brought. Love ya..'

Naturally, Shah Rukh tweeted back thanking Akhtar for giving him an opportunity to 'feel like a rockstar'.
The concert was held at the Bandra Fort Amphitheatre in Mumbai. Speaking about the concert, Akhtar said," We are using our creativity and our music at the LALKAAR concert to galvanise the movement to end violence against women and girls. We are on a mission to galvanise support and inspire the youth to be a catalyst of change for generations to come."
Feroze Abbas Khan also stressed upon the need for the initiative, “We want to take this campaign to those who are usually left out of the conversation, we cannot limit our engagement to a reaction but want it to convert into action. Bas Ab Bahut Ho Gaya – Enough Is Enough is a campaign that intends to be a way of continuous and sustained engagement to sensitise people who are usually left out of this conversation. This is our message to men, because agar desh ko badalna hai, toh mard ko badalna hoga (If we have to change the country, we have to change the men)”.
