This week was supposed to see a clash of five Hindi films on the box office including, Kadvi Hawa, Julie 2, Firangi, Ajji and Tera Intezar. But the delay of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, which was supoosed to be released on 1 December, has changed things.
Now, Firangi and Tera Intezar have shifted their release dates ahead too.
Starring Kapil Sharma and directed by Rajeev Dhingra, the release of Firangi is delayed as the makers couldn’t get a censor certificate on time.
Speaking to the online magazine TheQuint.com, Dhingra said, “We were hoping to get our censor certificate early this week. Now we’re told the censor certificate will be given to us on 23 November, a day before our release date. How can we release the film under such uncertainty? My friend Kapil Sharma, my Mumbai distributor Anil Thadani, and I have decided not to release this Friday.”
Film business analyst Girish Johar has hinted that Firangi will most probably be released on 1 December. “#Firangi postponed...may now release on 1st Dec 2017 @KapilSharmaK9,” he tweeted yesterday.

The reasons for the delay of Tera Intezar’s release hasn't been revealed by the makers yet. It is likely that the film, starring Sunny Leone and Arbaaz Khan, is caching in on Padmavati's postponement.
The delay of Padmavati has also prompted the makers of Fukrey Returns and Monsoon Shootout to advance their release dates. The two films were supposed to clash at the box office on 15 December, but will now be released on 8 December.
