Suresh Triveni’s Tumhari Sulu had a major fall in collections on its first Monday at the box office. The film, starring Vidya Balan and Manav Kaul, managed to earn only Rs1.50 crore on the day, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.
After opening with only Rs1.65 crore on Friday, 17 November, the film showed good growth in the next two days. Owing to the positive reviews and word-of-mouth, the film finished its first weekend at a decent Rs12 crore, approximately. Therefore, the sudden drop on the first day of the first week comes as a surprise.

The low budget of Rs12 crore, however, will help Tumhari Sulu's cause. With Rs13.40 crore already in the kitty, the film won’t turn out to be a loss-making venture for the producers. As no major films are scheduled to be released coming Friday, the film still has a chance to end with a decent run at the box office.
Ananth Mahadevan’s Aksar 2, which released with Tumhari Sulu, has failed at the box office. The film made only Rs2.75 crore in the first weekend and added Rs60 lakh yesterday. The fate of the film looks sealed.
