While the team of Padmavati is struggling with the vitriol coming in from all directions, actress Deepika Padukone does have some positives to take away. The actress received support from her international co-star, Ruby Rose.

Padukone and Rose worked together on 2016's xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage. Tweeting a news report about Padukone's quote of being 'angry' and 'let down' by the reactions to Padmavati, Rose wrote, 'I am in shock at reading what my dear friend is going through but in absolute awe of her strength and courage. Deepika you are one of the strongest women I know.'

Some fringe groups claiming to represent the Rajput community have threatened Padukone with physical violence, including beheading and disfiguration. In a recent interview with the Hindustan Times newspaper, Padukone said, "Well, at this point, as a woman, an artiste and a citizen of this country I feel angry, I feel let down and I also find it amusing."

Padmavati was initially scheduled to be released on 1 December, but the release date has now been postponed by the makers.
