Twitter seemed to be the preferred medium to wish the star on his birthday.

Shah Rukh Khan has just returned to Mumbai after throwing a bash for close friends and family at his Alibag guesthouse, but Twitter has been having a party in his name since early morning.

The actor, who turned 52 today, was the centre of wishes that poured in from all corners of the world. Everyone from Aamir Khan to Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor to Boman Irani took to Twitter to wish one of the more popular stars in Hindi cinema.

Humshakals (2014) director Sajid Khan was one of the early wishers. While sister Farah Khan was at the party, Sajid Khan chose to take to Twitter to send his best wishes to the actor.

Not to be left behind, Aamir Khan took to Twitter to put up a touching post about his peer and competitor. Addressing the star as 'Shah', Aamir Khan wrote, 'May you always have good health, and may you continue to rule our hearts for a long time to come.'

Glamour photographer Dabboo Ratnani also offered his favourite subject wishes on the special day. Praising Shah Rukh Khan's gentlemanly nature, he wrote: 'It’s that heart of gold & stardust soul that makes you so beautiful.'

One of Shah Rukh Khan's early co-stars, Raveena Tandon, put up an old video of the star enjoying a candid moment with her.

Though he had already celebrated with Shah Rukh at the Alibag party, close friend and confidant Karan Johar did not miss the chance to wish the star a special birthday on Twitter.

His Don (2006) director Farhan Akhtar was another of the partygoers who took to Instagram to put up a picture of himself with the star.

Happy birthday @iamsrk .. love, light, peace .. & thank you for a cracking evening.. shine on!! #funtimes

Director Rahul Dholakia wished his Raees (2017) hero saying 'OPEN the Daru, dabav the kheema, dance with your zalimas and Lailas in the mohalla.'

His co-star from Raees, Mahira Khan, sent her wishes to the 'Gangstakhan' from across the border on Twitter.

Another close friend, Juhi Chawla, a co-star from his Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992) and Darr (1993) days, wished Shah Rukh as well. In quite a quirky wish, Chawla wrote 'Lucky Ali ..!!! Wish you a grand birthday ... as grand as you are ..!!!'

Even the usually reserved Suneil Shetty took to Twitter to wish his friend from the industry and hoped he would always live life kingsize.

Among the others wishing the star were Shirish Kunder, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani.

But knowing the star, it was not just the film industry celebrating his big day. Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, who recently entered the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women in the World list, also turned out to be a fan of the actor known popularly as King Khan.

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh was another fan who put up a picture of himself with the actor.

The world of music was represented by close friend Mika Singh who wrote:

Singer Armaan Malik, who represents the generation after Shah Rukh, was not invulnerable to the star's charms either. Wishing him, Malik wrote, 'You taught us the true meaning of love. The world is blessed to have you in it!'

Ayushmann Khurrana also wished the senior actor from his account, suggesting that it was Shah Rukh Khan who inspired him to 'believe in love'.

With Khan returning in style to Mumbai today, he might feel pleased at this warm welcome.
