No one can deny there is Hindu terror, Kamal Haasan writes in Tamil magazine

The arrival of November has only increased the excitement about Kamal Haasan's political career. The actor had announced that he will make his political ambitions clear on his birthday, 7 November. The jump into politics seems inevitable by the actor's recent comments. Writing in the Tamil weekly, Ananda Vikatan, the actor spoke strongly against the rise of 'Hindu terror' and the failure of demonetisation.

"One cannot say there is no Hindu terror anymore," wrote the Dasavatharam actor in his column. He further added, "The right wing cannot challenge anyone asking the question — Show me one Hindu terrorist? Terror has spread into their camp as well. Such terror activities are not going to help them in any which way."

The column comes close on the heels of Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan's question to the actor about his stance on 'Hindutva forces' during their last meeting in September. The actor had recently stated his disappointment at the failure of the central government's Goods and Service Tax (GST) policy. The actor, who had earlier expressed support for the policy, changed his stance after 'discussing it with experts'.

The speculation around the actor's political career has been growing after he recently took on the ruling party BJP by offering support to the team of Mersal, over the controversy around the film.

In the column, the actor also praised the Kerala government's handling of communal riots, saying, "Tamil Nadu will become an example for social justice once again,” and that for now “Kerala shows the way."

Haasan recently met Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party president, Arvind Kejriwal, in Chennai, post the announcement of his interest of joining politics.
