His next film Padmavati is shrouded in controversy, with even threats of physical violence being issued to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and lead actress Deepika Padukone, who also happens to be his girlfriend, but Ranveer Singh hasn’t lost his sense of humour.
The hunk has begun work on his next film Gully Boy, said to based on the lives of street rappers from the chawls of Mumbai. Singh posted this little video of himself with text punning on Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic character from Mukul Anand’s Agneepath (1990).

Bachchan’s Vijay Deenath Chauhan gives way to Ranveer’s DJ Deenath Chauhan.
Earlier in the day, Singh compared his character from Padmavati, Alauddin Khilji, to that of The Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight (2008).
