Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu are being approached to replace Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in Manmarziyaan. The other big change in the much delayed film is Anurag Kashyap taking on the director's chair himself.
Vicky Kaushal already has three confirmed and announced films releasing in the first half of next year and soon will begin shooting for Uri, based on the Indian surgical strike, to be directed by Aditya Dhar.
He recently wrapped up Meghna Gulzar's Raazi with Alia Bhatt which is scheduled to be released in May next year. Other films lined up for 2018 include Raju Hirani's The Dutt biopic, Karan Johar's short in Bombay Talkies 2 and Love Per Square Foot.
Sources suggest that Kashyap has also taken a keen interest in the script of Manmarziyaan as well. The film was initially announced with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead under the direction of Ashwini Iyer Tiwari in May last year.
However, lack of dates, and numerous delays have led the producer Aanand L Rai opting for a new cast.
If confirmed, the film will be Vicky Kaushal's second film with Anurag Kashyap after the dark psychological thriller, Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016).
