Mumbai International Film Festival 2018 open for registrations

The prestigious festival for documentary, short and animation films, will be held from 28 January to 3 February 2018.

Since 1990, the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) for documentary, short and animation films, has been an integral part of the film festival scene in Mumbai and registrations are now open. The 15th edition will be held from 28 January to 3 February 2018.

The competitive section, in conjunction with Films Division, the information and broadcasting ministry and the Indian government, is offering cash prizes of up to Rs60 lakh, including a special award (the Golden Conch) for Best Documentary, that comes with a prize money of Rs10 lakh.

There will also be awards for Best Debut Film, Best Student Film and a few technical awards. 

Last year, more than 50 countries participated in the festival.

MIFF also honours a veteran documentary filmmaker with the Dr V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award, along with a cash prize of Rs5 lakh.
