Members of the Rajput Karni Sena vandalized a theatre in Aakash Mall in Kota, Rajasthan for showing the trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. The group along with a few members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are up in arms against the film for allegedly distorting history and portraying Rajputs in poor light.
Recently, few members of the group had submitted a memorandum to the theatre owner demanding that the trailer of the film not be screened in the theatre.
A video posted by news agency ANI, has recorded the men shouting slogans and mercilessly vandalizing the glass doors and the booking counter of the theatre. They are also heard using profanities against the makers of the movie. Reportedly, the group was also seen pelting the theatre with stones.
