As the protests against Padmavati intensified, actor Shahid Kapoor issued a plea requesting all the agitators to give the film a chance. Kapoor plays the character of Rawal Ratan Singh.
Mumbai police had detained 25 people who were agitating outside director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office on Sunday, and later released them. More arrests were reported in Gujarat.

Kapoor, who walked the ramp at a fashion show on Saturday evening, was asked about the opposition to the film.
“I’ve been saying this since a long time. Watch the film and then decide. Give the film a chance and don’t form preconceived notions. We have tried to keep everyone’s feelings and interests in mind,” Kapoor told reporters.
